He is survived by: his parents, Jimmy Spires and Esther Spires of Alexander; his wife Grace Spires of Waynesboro; his daughter Jeanette Jenkins (Craig) of Savannah; his siblings, Vincent Spires (Marsha) of Waynesboro and Christine Smith of Athens; his grandchildren, Carolyn (CJ), Sapp (Zach) of Sardis, Joshua Jenkins of Sardis and Payton "Tyler" Johnson (Lauren) of Swainsboro; and his great grandchild Karleigh.
