He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred McDaniel and Ruth McDaniel; his daughter Julie Powell; his granddaughter Madison McDaniel; and his brother William McDaniel.

He is survived by: his wife Tillie McDaniel; his son Ben McDaniel (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Kinley McDaniel, Logan McDaniel, Emma Escamilla (Isai), Caleb McDaniel, Corrine McDaniel and Katelyn Morgan; his sister Janice Patridge (Billy); his nieces, Angie Sharp (Michael) and Callie Partridge; his son-in-law Leroy Powell; his grandson Joey Harris; and his friend Melanie Michaels.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors (214 Davis Rd, Augusta, GA 30907). A memorial service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
