He was predeceased by: his parents, John Francis Mell Sr. and Sophia Katherine Mell (Tokarczyk). He is survived by: his wife Joyce Skiba Mell (Lewis); his children, Robert John Mell (Jolene), Karen Patricia Sheridan (Dean), Kathleen McLean and Jane Marie Mell Balek (Paul); and his grandchildren, Kade Sheridan, Maureen Hammond (Stuart), Erinn Reilly (William), Brenda Alto (Ryan), Emma Jane Balek, Katherine Flynn Balek, Mary Christine Mell and Sarah Elizabeth Mell. He is also survived by family members in addition to his wife.
