He was predeceased by: his parents, Janie Spence Hudson and Douglas Hudson; his daughter Dawn Hudson; and his grandchildren, Michael Hudson, Gainus Sikes, Christopher Sikes and James Seigler.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Mackling Hudson; his daughter Lorie Freeman (Derrick); his stepdaughters, Bonnie Sikes and Sandra Bostick; and his sisters, Becky Carr and Donna Barnhart. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren and his seven great-grandchildren.
