He is survived by: his wife Bernice Gilbert; his children, Larry Gilbert, Derrick Gilbert, Donnell Gilbert and Marie Gilbert; his stepdaughter Neia Thomas; his siblings, Robert Horton, Alice Morris and Mary Cooper; and his grandchildren, Montrell Herrington, Derrick Gilbert, Madison Newsome, McKinnzey Newsome, Preston Newsome, Larry Kennedy, Kia Kennedy, De'AndreForeman, De'Ondra Foreman, De'Shaun Foreman, Raven Dean, DeAndre Thomas and Tranice Thomas. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
