Laverne McDuffie Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laverne McDuffie of Augusta, Georgia, who passed away on April 7, 2024, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin "Frank" Gilmer, Sr. and Mattie "Eufola" Gilmer; her husband Lewis McDuffie; her son Rodney Brock; her siblings, Benjamin Franklin Gilmer, Jr., Stanley Gilmer and Thomas Gilmer; her nephew Keith Miller; and her close friend Ace Bennett.

She is survived by: her son Michael; her daughter-in-law Janet Brock; her grandchildren, Dylan Brock, Zachary Brock (Erin), Taylor Mullins (Josh), Colin Brock and Matthew Brock; her sister Juanita Miller; and her nieces, Amy Purgason and Christie Lorton. She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren, other loving relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Meals on Wheels or Community Council on Aging in memory of Laverne.
