It is with sadness that the passing of Leo Wilson Barnes of Augusta, Georgia is shared. Leo, born on December 3, 1934, passed away on August 1, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Eldridge Leo and Iona Blanche Barnes (Scarborough); his sisters, Cornelia Ann Claxton and Janette Barnes Guiler; his brothers-in-law, Burnett Morris and R. Allen Claxton; and his great-nephew Joshua Claxton.
He is survived by: his sister Jaqueline Barnes Morris; and his nieces and nephews, Pamela Claxton Moffatt, Richard Claxton (Ranee), Jennifer Claxton Randall (Corky), Robert Guiler, Martin Morris and Kyle Morris.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to a local charity of your choosing or one of the following established scholarships at the University of South Carolina-Sumter: The Leo Wilson Barnes Endowed Scholarship Fund or the Janette Barnes Guiler Memorial Scholarship.
