He was predeceased by: his parents, Vesta Nichols and Edith Nichols; his brother J. T. Nichols; and his sister-in-law Pat Nichols. He is survived by: his wife Esther Leverett Nichols; his daughters, Christy Nichols, Sheila Nichols and Sandy Nichols; his brothers, Jerry Nichols and Roger "Bo" Nichols (Donna Sue); his grandchildren, Shaun Jadallah, Autumn Redfern, Kayden Redfern, Levi Nichols, Keirsten Thigpen, Chelsea Strickland, Amber Strickland, Taylor Thigpen and Brian Strickland; and his close friend Joe Wisniewski.
