She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Beckum and Thelma Beckum; her siblings, Grady Beckum, Annie Mae James and Marylin Allen; and her former husband Franklin Barnes.
She is survived by: her sons, James Melvin Barnes (Martha), Wallace Barnes (Ruthie) and Clyde Barnes (Vickie); her grandchildren, Shannon Mann, Jonathan Barnes, Rebecca Bates and Aaron Barnes; her stepchildren, Charles Brown and Linda Thomas; her nieces and nephews, Cynthia Anderson, Patricia Blanco, Leon Allen, Bobby Barnes and Ronald Barnes; and her friend Kathy Herron. She is also survived by five great-great grandchildren.
