She was predeceased by: her parents, Ollie Scott Thurmond and Marie Antoinette Thurmond; her siblings, Everlene Thurmond Anderson, Tolbert Wellington Thurmond and Ollie Mae Nimmons; and her son David Christopher Corley.
She is survived by: her husband Darrell Spires; her son Carl Corley (Suzanne); her grandchildren, Tara Hall (Tyler), Chandler Corley (Emily), Kelly Harman (Steven), Lindsey Parkman (Lathan), Casey Corley and Natalie Adams (Josh); her great grandchildren, Jaci, Clayton, Luke Harman, Lathan, Lane Parkman, Walker Hall and Riley Corley; her niece Donna Rushing; her daughter-in-law Joy Corley; her sister-in-law Susan Laughmiller; and her caregivers, Ian and Katie.
