She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Simmons and Mildred Simmons Brabham; her son Johnnie "Earvin" Simmons; and her siblings, Vannie Brabham, Bernard Simmons, Joanne Blackman, Elizabeth Lowery and Joyce Simmons.
She is survived by: her husband Tony Fitzpatrick; her daughters, LaToya Bussey and Mary McKine; and her sisters, Betty Reynolds of Augusta, Georgia, Henrietta Bland (Allen) of Augusta, Georgia, Dianne Boatright of Augusta, Georgia and Felicia Simmons of Augusta, Georgia. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the C. A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home (314 Laney Walker Blvd A, Augusta, GA 30901). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 2028 Roosevelt Dr, Augusta, GA 30904.
