He was predeceased by: his spouse Francis Louise Taylor Skillman; and his siblings, Tommy Skillman and Thelma Duncan Bridges. He is survived by: his children, Lynn Skillman, Renee Skillman-Jobo (Bryan), Donnie Skillman, Janet Frazier (Russell) and Becky Wyles; and his sister Hester Amerson. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.

I came to know and admire Ervin for his sharp mind and quick wit during the past few months. He was especially close to his constant companion "Bandit". His last wish to go home and be with his cherished fur baby. Ervin also cared very deeply for his live-in companion and caretaker Sandy. He was devoted to her for the excellent care extended to him.
