She is survived by: her daughter Lucille Alerte; her granddaughters, Shirell Bennett, Angel Jiles and Tchalla Alerte; and her siblings, Carl Hines, Walter Hines, James Hines (Anne), Bennie Hines, Ralph Hines (Evenlyn), David Hines (Edith), Sidney Hines (Marie), Sylvia Ross, Elaine Hines, Larry Hines and Elizabeth Bird. She is also survived by six great grandchildren.
