It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rachel Caraway Widener of Augusta, Georgia, born in Jefferson, Georgia, who passed away on November 23, 2022, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her former husband John Owen Rooks; her parents, W. B. Caraway and Mary Caraway; and her siblings, Everett Caraway and Ann Gordy.
She is survived by: her husband Howard Widener; her daughter Pamela Walker; and her grandchildren, Jonathon Wingate, Jr. and Leilani Walker. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
