He was predeceased by: his parents, Grace J. Wright and James E. Barfield, Sr.; and his siblings, Edward Barfield, Kenneth Barfield and Christine B. Walker.
He is survived by: his husband Nick; and his siblings, Pat B. Macy, Bill Barfield, Rick Barfield, Jimmy Barfield and Jerry Wright. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
