It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard G. Kimmel of Augusta, Georgia, born in Richmond, Indiana, who passed away on May 21, 2024, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Hubert Kimmel and Joan Kimmel. He is survived by : his wife Valerie Strom Kimmel; his sister Sue K. Grubb; his sisters-in-law, Jacquelyn Iley (Brett) of Bogart, GA, Erika Brasco (Craig) of Marietta, GA and Beth Strom of Reno, NV; and his nieces and nephews, Kyndall Iley, Natalie Brasco, Tanner Iley and Nicklaus Brasco.

Visitation was held on Saturday, May 25th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors (214 Davis Rd, Augusta, GA 30907). A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 25th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.

The family requests no flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to The Dental College of Georgia, Office of the Dean, 1120 15th Street, GC-5203, Augusta, GA 30912, designated to support scholarships at the dental school.
