He was predeceased by: his mothers, Legare Mapp and Roberta Mapp; his sister Nancy Justice; and his son-in-law Mike Smith. He is survived by: his wife Katherine Campbell Mapp; his children, Kim Dorr, Ann Smith and Lee Mapp; his grandchildren, Katie Dorr, Will Dorr (Lauren), Cami Gibson (Nick), Grey Surles, Michael Smith (Maddie), Tommy Smith, Tripp Mapp, Martha Dawson Mapp and Anne Holder Mapp; and his great grandchildren, Riley Hauser, Smith-James Gibson, Hampton Gibson and Griffin Dorr. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, or the Department of Natural Resources, who can finally rest after years of chasing this LEGEND!Family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Thomas Poteet & Son on Monday, December 8, 2025.
