He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Roy and Doris Brantley Tanner; and his brother Tony Tanner. He is survived by: his wife Debra Tanner of Wrightsville; his daughters, Renae Beth Tanner of Wrightsville and Heather Tanner Holt (Tyler) of Wrightsville; his sister-in-law Sue Tanner; and his sibling's children, Thomas Tanner (Jessica) and Rebekah Reddish. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
