It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley J. Hollobaugh of Augusta, Georgia, who passed away on October 2, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the sacred silence of farewell, Shirley is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Shirley's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Mayerchak and Elsie Ritenour Mayerchak. She is survived by: her daughter Tina R. Porter (Doug); her grandchildren, Ashley Nelson (Josh) and Justice Roberts; her great grandchildren, Jessica Royce and Christina Nelson; her siblings, Raymond J. Olson, Harry M. McCarty (Vicki) and Joan M. Rhoades (Russ); Elizabeth Greathouse, Glenn S. McCarty Jr. and Larry I. McCarty.
A reception will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Chance & Hydrick Funeral Home (2502 Richmond Hill Rd, Augusta, GA 30906).
