He is survived by: his children, Melanie York Shepherd (Sandy) of Savannah and Wesley York (Blakely) of Winder; his grandsons, Edwin Shepherd, Ashton York, Collin York and Embry York; and his brothers, Edward York (Georgia) of Bonaire, Richard York (Georgia) of Rome and Rudy York of Royston, Georgia..
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, September 2nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Abilene Baptist Church Cemetery (3917 Old Abilene Church Rd, Martinez, GA 30907).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Abilene Baptist Church (3917 Washington Rd, Martinez GA 30907), Broad Street Ministries (20 Broad St, Augusta GA 30901), or Hope Haven, a faith-based support program for people living with dementia (℅ St. John's Church, 1 West Macon Street, Savannah GA).
