He was predeceased by: his parents, John Richard Ashmore and Mattie LeRoy Ashmore; his wife Miriam Blanchard Ashmore; and his siblings, Laura Bussey, J. R. Ashmore (Junior), Nathaniel Ashmore and Sadie Williams.
He is survived by: his children, Janice and Steve (Stacy); his grandchildren, Erin Burch, Matthew Ashmore and Spenser Burch; and his sisters, Polly Reese, Margaret White and Matilda Finley.
