With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Walter Edward Cook of Augusta, Georgia, who passed away on June 13, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his spouse Ollie Atkinson Parker Cook; his parents, Allene Cheney Cook and Bloyce Cook; and his brother Robert Cook. He is survived by: his daughters, Debbie Lewis, Donna Cook (Danny) and Melody Miller (Randy Brown); his grandchildren, Jay Lewis, Joey Lewis, Ashley Conner (Stephan), Benjamin Cook (Jamie), Shane Cochran (Crystal), Toni McIntosh (Shaun) and Kevin Miller; his brothers, Eugene Cook, Wilton Davis (Wanda) and Lee Davis; and the mother of his children Mary Spires. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the James Funeral Home (630 N Main St, Wrens, GA 30833). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the New Horizon Church of God (1800 Windsor Spring Rd, Augusta, GA 30906). A burial will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the West View Cemetery (2051 Division St, Augusta, GA 30904).
