He was predeceased by : his father James Roy. He is survived by : his sons, Walter Howard, Jr. (Michelle A. Smith) of Bristol, Indiana, Lawrence Smith of Augusta and Anthony Smith of Augusta; his brother James Roy Smith, Jr.; and his grandchildren, Noah W. Smith, Joshua H. Smith, Natalie I. Smith and Savannah R. Smith.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 21st 2023 at 3:00 PM at the Phillips Mill Baptist Church Cemetery (5479 Greensboro Rd S, Washington, GA 30673).
