He was predeceased by: his father James Roy. He is survived by: his sons, Walter Howard, Jr. (Michelle A. Smith) of Bristol, Indiana, Lawrence Smith of Augusta and Anthony Smith of Augusta; his brother James Roy Smith, Jr.; and his grandchildren, Noah W. Smith, Joshua H. Smith, Natalie I. Smith and Savannah R. Smith.
