William Cornes Obituary
We bid farewell to William Cornes of Augusta, Georgia, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 29, 2025 at the age of 78. William touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though William may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those William touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Edwin Cornes Sr. and Willie Mae Lowe Cornes; and his siblings, Julius Edwin Cornes, Jr. and Nancy Lowe Richardson. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Walker Cornes (Ginger); his son Travis Cornes; and his siblings-in-law, Martha Walker Roberts (Haley) and Benjamin Pierce Walker (Gail). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
