He was predeceased by: his parents, William Everett Franklin and Bettie May Abernathy; his siblings, Mitchel Lorine, Thomas Haral Franklin, Fred Leeman Franklin, Mildred Franklin and Gladys Christine Franklin; his nephews, Gary Franklin and Michael Franklin; and his sisters-in-law, Billie Jean Franklin and Lois Franklin.

He is survived by: his wife Lenora Voncile Franklin of Fort Walton Beach, FL; his son Steven Wayne Franklin; his daughter-in-law Michelle Franklin of Frisco, TX; his grandchildren, Heather Sandoval (Michael Sandoval) of Aubrey, TX and Bradley Franklin of Frisco, TX; his grandson-in-law Michael Sandoval; his nephew Glynn Franklin; his great-nephew Aaron Darden; and his friend Rick Overstreet.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Davis-Watkins Funeral Home (113 Racetrack Rd NE, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
