With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William Miller Mims in Augusta, Georgia, born in Hephzibah, Georgia, who passed away on December 9, 2023 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Henry Mims and Nellie Ray Mims; and his daughter Debra Mims Kirkland. He is survived by: his wife Margaret James; his son Gregory W. Mims of Statesboro; his son-in-law Steve Kirkland of Augusta; and his grandchildren, Jeffrey D. Mims of Augusta, Kelleye, Justin Kowal of Evans, Jana, Josh Bolin of Texas and Bradley Kirkland. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Silvercrest Baptist Church General Fund, 3431 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta GA 30906.
