It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Sheridan Prather of Augusta, Georgia, who passed away on July 9, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his wife Ida Marie Prather (Wilson); his sons, Mike Prather (Michelle), Tony Prather (Kai), Tim Prather (Sandy) and Wayne Prather (Janet); his grandchildren, Joshua Prather (Payton), Haley Hadwin (Ernie), Caleb Prather, Ansley Prather, Paul Prather, Emrie Canen (Austin), Jackie Prather, Holly Sallah (Saviour), David Prather, Sarah Prather, Natalie Prather and Rachael Prather; his great grandchildren, Davon Hadwin, Easton Hadwin, Beau Hadwin, Miley Hadwin, Loulie Prather, Henry Prather, Audrey Prather and Blair Canen; and his brother Clarence Prather Jr.. He is also survived by his mother's family, aunts, uncles and cousins.
His contributions to the site included several awards and patent disclosures, but the highlight of his career at SRS was the relationships that he developed over the years and the meaningful work he accomplished for the good of our country.
