It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Samford Turner (Augusta, Georgia), who passed away on December 28, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. As William departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though William may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy William leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lois Heiter Turner and John Tyler Turner; and his brother John Tyler Turner, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Carol Graham Turner; his children, Maria Turner Jenkins (Barry) and Samford Graham Turner (Lauren); and his grandchildren, William Rhys Jenkins, Alicia Campbell Jenkins (Allie) and Bonnie Wren Turner. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, his family requests that donations be made in Samford's memory to the Golden Harvest Food Bank in Augusta or the Presbyterian Home for Children in Talladega, Alabama.
