He was predeceased by: his son George Kenneth Hargis Jr.; his granddaughter Karen Ansley Martin; his siblings, Don Hargis and Ann Higgins; and his parents, William Hargis and Hazel Mae Hargis.
He is survived by: his wife Eleanor Paulette Hargis; his daughters, Kimberly DeLay and Kamie Hargis; his daughter-in-law Amie Hargis; his grandchildren, Courtney DeLay, Chase DeLay, Josh Hargis and Chelsea Hargis; and his siblings, John Lewis Hargis (Wanda), Dee Hargis (Lisa), Roy Hargis (Linda) and Mary Elizabeth Simmons (Mike). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Roy Davis Funeral Home (5935 Mulberry St, Austell, GA 30168). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 at the Crest Lawn Memorial Park (2000 Marietta Blvd NW, Atlanta, GA 30318).
