She was predeceased by: her parents, Jackie Mae Tarpley and James Walter Tarpley; her husband Charlie Marvin Barnes; her daughter Deborah Ann Barnes; and her siblings, Florence Cox, Jack Tarpley, Jayman Tarpley and Billy Tarpley.

She is survived by: her daughter Sharon Ellis (Paul) of Dallas; her grandchildren, Drew Ellis (Tammy), Chris Ellis (Ashley) and Jeff Ellis (Alesha); and her great grandchildren, Dylan, Makenzie, Reese, Cash, Waylon, Mays and Max. She is also survived by extended family and friends.
