He was predeceased by: his parents, Hoke Smith Fortson, Sr. and Zelma Hulme Fortson. He is survived by: his wife Linda Cheryl Norman Fortson; his children, Hoke Smith "Chip" Fortson, III (Lauran) of Bowman, GA and Sherry Fortson Popovic (Dan) of Cumming, GA; and his siblings, Josephine Fortson, Francis Fortson and Dewey Fortson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
