He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Bernice Mitchell and John Mitchell; his wife Ruth Rivers Mitchell; his children, Lynn Wigley, Ann Woodward (Ben), John G. Mitchell, Jr. (Robin), Mark D. Mitchell (Karen) and Mary Taylor (Rick); and his grandchildren, Christina Bennett, David Woodward, Kevin Wigley, William Mitchell, Andrew Taylor, Kenneth Wigley, Morgan Mitchell Fisk, Seth Taylor, John "Trey" G. Mitchell III and Jordan Taylor. He was also cherished by six great grandchildren.
