He was predeceased by: his parents, Alaga Harrison Boyd and Myrtle Howard Ireland Boyd; his uncles, Greydon Boyd (Freddy) and Lee Boyd (Billy); his siblings, Jack Ireland Boyd (Annelle) and Elizabeth "Betty" Boyd Conatser (Robert Conatser); his cousin Eddie Lee Boyd (Irene); and his nephews, Rick Milne, William "Zeke" Kirk, Carl Conatser and Harrison Boyd.
He is survived by: his wife Rose Faye Milne Boyd; his children, Lynn Boyd (Harry Vann) of Avondale Estates and Alan Boyd (Andrea White Boyd) of Jefferson; his grandchildren, Alexander "Sasha" Boyd of Helen and Rylee Boyd Elkins (Zach Elkins) of Maysville, Georgia.; his nephew John Clifton Kirk (Sue Kirk); his great-niece Carrie Kirk Montgomery of Blythewood; his great-nephews, John Edward Kirk (April) of Blythewood and Clifton Lee Kirk, Sr. (Becky) of Blythewood; and his nieces and nephews, Lisa Milne Young (Edwin Young), Teresa Milne, Ron Milne (Elizabeth), Brent Milne (Krista Marks), Darlene Kirk, Elizabeth Thomas, Robert Boyd Conatser, Glen Conatser, Jackye Boyd and Harriet Boyd Harty.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Dunbar Funeral Home (3926 Devine St, Columbia, SC 29205). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel (3926 Devine St, Columbia, SC 29205). A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Greenlawn Cemetery (7100 Garners Ferry Rd, Columbia, SC 29209).
