With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Walter Stapleton of Baconton, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 27, 2026 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Walter leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Elmer Stapleton and Faye Janeway Stapleton. He is survived by: his wife Wanda Stapleton of Baconton; his children, Denise Duke (Dennis) of Athens and Clinton Stapleton (Angela) of Baconton; and his grandchildren, Ethan Duke, Nathan Duke, Lantz Stapleton and Cheyenne Stapleton.
