He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Gardner and Lela Gardner; his wife Shirley Harris Gardner; and his siblings, Ronald Gardner, Andrew "Tick" Gardner and Paula Jane Hughes.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Gardner, Jr. and Elizabeth Stoeckel; his grandchildren, Natalie Hentenaar, Harrison Gardner, Bella Bryan, Sophia Gardner, Logan Stoeckel, Sarah Kate Gardner, Corra Stoeckel and Emerie Gardner; and his brother William Gardner (Charlotte Gardner). He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Oak City Cemetery (502 Planter St, Bainbridge, GA 39817).
