He was predeceased by: his parents, George Preston Copeland and Bonceil Harrell Copeland; his siblings, Alwayne Finleyson, Prestine Sowa and Victor Harrell Copeland; and his grandson Clifton William Henry Copeland.
He is survived by: his son George Earl "Bunky" Copeland, Jr. of Bainbridge, Georgia; his sisters, Mary Esther Ramsey of Albany and Deborah Elizabeth Faulkner (Rex) of Albany; his grandchildren, George Preston Copeland (Nina) of Lawrence, Jacqueline Victoria Copeland of St. Petersburg and Mary Hannah Elizabeth Copeland of Atlanta, Georgia; and his great grandchildren, Ayla Copeland, Gioia Copeland and Valerie Chapman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
