He was predeceased by: his parents, Durant Gardner and Thelma Yates Gardner; his daughter Val Gardner Lomas; his granddaughter Hillary Brock; and his siblings, Vern, Rufus, Tom, Adonis, Duane, Alsie, Winston, Durant Jr. and Margaret.
He is survived by: his wife Libby Gardner; his daughters, Kimm Powell (John) and Heather Herman (Mark Purser); his grandchildren, Tyler Long, Aubrey Brock, Trey Herman, Camden Herman, Lauren Musgrove and Amy Hooks; and his great grandchildren, Caden Brock, Gracie, Maddox Kate Musgrove, Mallie Hooks and Emory Adams.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Bryant Funeral Home Chapel (105 N Florida St, Bainbridge, GA 39817). A reception will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
