He was predeceased by: his father Russell Long; his wife Sara Mason Long; his mother Grace Widner Long Driggers; his stepfather W. S. Driggers (Scottie); his siblings, Virginia Warren, Gail D. Spooner, Kenneth Driggers and Leroy Driggers; his granddaughter Leah Long; and his great grandchild Dylan Olds.
He is survived by: his children, Troy Douglas Long, Jr. (Julie) of Bainbridge, Georgia and Carolyn L. Thompson (Jeff) of Bainbridge; his grandchildren, Steven Olds, Laycee Long, Stephanie Ivey (Richard), Chris Olds (Stephanie), Victoria Long and Beth Campbell (Charlie); his great grandchildren, Ryan, Brooke, Sydnee, Jeff, Henry, Charlee, Gracee, Jack, Blayne, Conner and Alyssa; and his great great grandchild Luke. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home (502 S Scott St, Bainbridge, GA 39819). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
