He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Schneider and Dorothy Richardson Schneider; his son John Lee Schneider; his brother Bob Schneider; his former wife Mary Jo Skinner Schneider; and his nephew Ronald Forest Ackerman, Jr..
He is survived by: his sisters, Carol Beaman and Doris Wood; his close friend Martha Turner of Milledgeville; his nieces and nephews, Beth Sorrell, Shelby Thorton, Bobby Schneider of Milledgeville, Jaret Thorton of Texas and Robbie Wood of Texas; and his great-nephew Tim Schneider of Baldwin County.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery (2617 Vinson Hwy, Milledgeville, GA 31061).
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Veterans Activity Fund, c/o the Georgia War Veterans Home, 2249 Vinson Highway, Milledgeville, GA 31061.
