“Mildred & family, My heart is full with fantastic memories of George. He was a tough cookie on the outside, but led with love & integrity; a fierce protector of all he loved. My favorite was of how much he loved you. When visiting I would catch him sitting back & smiling at the conversations or "hair-brained" ideas I or Sheldon would have. A special memory was at the fence talking to a young bull, he joined me in a silly, hilarious chat! Accepting me & all my weirdness was a cherished gift.”

I will always cherish the time that I spent working with George in the fields and woods of the old Macon Law Enforcement District. “To the family of George Jones, our prayers and thoughts are with you all at this time of your loss. I just lost my Mother last Friday and I just went through what you all are dealing with now. I am praying that the LORD will give you the strength and Grace that you need at this time in your life. George was a great man and a great Game Warden too. I did not know him very well, but he had a reputation of being fair and knowledgeable in the job. I too retired from DNR LE in 2002. Jim Hethcox”
