He was predeceased by: his mother Bertha Smith; his wife Joyce Smith; and his father Guy Smith. He is survived by: his children, Jason Smith of Ball Ground and Lynn; his son-in-law Richie Haithcock of Ball Ground; his grandchildren, Dana, Scott Anderson of Jasper, Heather, Ethan Rhinehart of Jasper, Hunter, Ali Haithcock of Ball Ground, Sara, Jared Parker of Nelson, Celena Haithcock (Blake) of Marble Hill, Jaycee Dupree of Ball Ground, Jimmy Dupree of Ball Ground, Abby Dupree of Ball Ground, Bella Dupree of Ball Ground, Tristin Smith of Ball Ground and Hannah Smith of Canton; his brother Cruse Smith of Rockmart; and his cousin Brenda Cruse of Marietta. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, Several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM and on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Roper Funeral Home and Crematory (206 Holly St, Jasper, GA 30143). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Clear Creek Baptist Church (3488 Clear Creek Rd, Ellijay, GA 30536). A burial will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at the Clear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery (3488 Clear Creek Rd, Ellijay, GA 30536).
