He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Gay and Mattie Dell Gay; and his brothers, Larry Gay and Charles Gay. He is survived by: his wife Elaine; his children, Christi Cain (Kevin), Dena Elbe (Noah), Stephen Gay (Amy) and Sharon Byrd (Joey); his grandchildren, Madison Elbe, Bailey Elbe, Wesley Cain, Kaleigh Gay, Kennedy Byrd, Mason Gay, Jackson Byrd and Harrison Byrd; and his brother Kenneth Gay (Wanda).
