He was predeceased by: his parents, George A. Prettyman and Elena Mary Prettyman (Cook). He is survived by: his wife Judy S. Cline (Cline); his children, James L Prettyman (Stacy) of Waleska and Julie L. Carter (Philip); and his grandchildren, Lukas P. and Lindsey L. Carter.

In lieu of flowers the family asked that donations be made to the Canton First United Methodist Church.
