He was predeceased by : his wife Mary F. Poe. He is survived by : his children, Robert Lee Poe, Jr. (Anna), Sheila Champion (Paul) and Amanda Poe; his granddaughter Shelly Poe (Zach); and his niece Linda Wencker.
