She was predeceased by: her parents, Ollie Beecher and Jessie Mae Wedincamp Beecher; her husband Rev. James W. Carter; her brothers, Jesse and Howard Beecher; her great grandchild Piper Carter; and her son-in-law Kenyon Lamb.
She is survived by: her children, Patricia C. Lamb of Jesup, Debi Hendrix (Ronnie Crosby) of Baxley, Dale Carter of Baxley and Stephen Carter (Janet E.) of Surrency; her sister-in-law JoAnn Beecher of Baxley; and her grandchildren, Jason Carter (Christy), Darby Carter, Andrew Hendrix (Megan), Matthew Hendrix, Daniel Carter (Rebecca), Joshua Carter (Brooke), Megan Atkinson (Brian Twiggs) and Malanda Johnson (Dustin). She is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 7th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Swain Funeral Home (1632 Hatch Pkwy N, Baxley, GA 31513). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Zion Missionary Baptist Church (525 Zion Baptist Church Rd, Baxley, GA 31513).
