He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Henry Phillips and Jimmie Claude Osborne Phillips; his wife Jacqueline "Jackie" Lucille Hagwood Phillips; his daughter Tammmy Lavener Sullivan; and his sisters, Dale Peppers and Inez Spinks.
He is survived by: his children, Jason Phillips of Bethlehem, Robbie Phillips of Snellville and Kelly Boner (Randy) of Madison; his siblings, Ralph Henry Phillips (Laura) of Pendergrass and Margaret Elizabeth Osborne of Carnesville; his grandchildren, Shawn Phillips (Ashley), Alicia Anderson, Tessa Phillips, Danielle Shoemake, Riley Shoemake, Alan Partain, Ashley Withrow (Avery), Haley Martin (Justin) and Austin Boner (Andrea); and his great grandchildren, Ethan, Gavin, Alyssa, Shayla, Peyton, Bradyn, Landon, Savannah, Camryn, Reagan, Luke and Dallas. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
