He was predeceased by: his father Johnny Tatum; and his wife Tina Thrift Tatum. He is survived by: his mother Evelyn Elizabeth Nettles Fisher of Blackshear; his daughter Tiffany Helms (Jake Leverett) of Daytona Beach, Florida; his stepchildren, Bethany Morgan (Brett) of Hoboken, Scott Fisher of Jacksonville, Eric Phan of Jacksonville and Alan Mai of Waycross; his grandchildren, Anna Marie Helms, Kristina Helms and Teagan Helms; his stepgrandchild Brenleigh Morgan; his brother Jessie Anthony Tatum of Blackshear; and his nephew Jessie Anthony "J. T." Tatum, Jr. of Blackshear.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home and Crematory (130 Screven Ave, Waycross, GA 31501). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Piney Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery (3855 Needham Rd, Waycross, GA 31503).
