He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie Eugene "Gene" and Merle Altman Head; his siblings, Lawton Eugene "Junior" Head and Sheila Aline Head Lovett; his parents-in-law, Lewis and Eula Mae Dixon; his sisters-in-law, Linda Head and Judy Head; his nephew Daylon Head; his niece Charley Dixon; his daughter-in-law Diane Head; and his close friend Stanford Baggs.

He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Head of Blackshear; his sons, Rick (Sandy Head) and Duane (Del Head); his grandchildren, Whitnei Head (Lora) of Valdosta, E. J., Taylor McCoy (Salim) of Brooklyn and Tyler Chapman (Brandon) of Milledgeville; his great grandchildren, Madison of Blackshear, Ayla of Blackshear, Maelee of Blackshear, Ryker Head of Blackshear, Rylee and Greyson Head of Jacksonville, Fla.; his stepgreat-grandson Andrew Davis of Blackshear; his brother Danny Head of Commerce; his brother-in-law Ellis Lovett of Blackshear; his nieces and nephews, Kay (Shane) of Millen, Anita Head of Virginia, Ellis Lovett (Michelle) of Loganville, Kevin Head (Tracey) of Commerce and Sam Head of Blackshear; and his son Tim Head (Bridget Head). He is also survived by numerous great nieces and great nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Pearson-Dial Chapel (659 Main St, Blackshear, GA 31516). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
