He is survived by: his wife Julie Musgrove Barber of Blackshear; his children, Fredrick Winston Barber III (Sarah) of Johns Creek, GA, Downing Musgrove Barber (Candace) of St. Simons Island, GA and Heidi Lyneath Barber of Charleston, S. C.; his grandchildren, Mary Brooke Barber of Nashville, TN, Downing Musgrove Barber, Jr. of St. Simons Island, Buck McDowell Barber of Johns Creek, GA, John Stanley Barber of Johns Creek, GA, Clay Naomi Barber of Johns Creek, GA and Hap Heimel of Mt. Pleasant, S. C; and his sister Brenda Martin of Bainbridge.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 4:00 PM. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (670 Main St, Blackshear, GA 31516). A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Sexton's House at the Oconee Hill Cemetery (297 Cemetery St, Athens, GA 30605-1701).
