She was predeceased by: her parents, John Payne and South of Georgia; her husband Walter G. Mitchell; her grandson Trey Manders; her great grandchild Ryder Moore; and her sisters, Frances Payne, Martha Walker and Nan Cleveland.

She is survived by: her children, Annabelle Mitchell (Daniel) of Patterson, George Bennett "Joby" Mitchell of Waycross and Bonita Mitchell of Indiana; her grandchildren, Sydney Slusher (Caleb), Kendle Taylor, Jade Bentley, Haley Andreoli (Kendall), Devin Taylor, Ashley Moore (Josh), Abbigail Mitchell, Walt Mitchell, Christy Lee, Jamie Rowell, Eddie Hampton (Melissa), Corey Piazza (Jacqui) and Neeko King (Elena); her great grandchildren, Korbin Griffin, Kannon Griffin, Annabelle Moore, Gabriella Piazza, Trevor Piazza, Josiah Mitchell, Jasper Hampton and Haley Hampton; and her sister Jeanne Cote of Pennsylvania. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
